Recently, Nieko had an assignment in class where if she could write anyone a letter and send it to them, what would it say. Read Nieko's letter below.
RIP GrandmaMy best friend, secret keeper, mommy number 2, wise woman, other half, the joy in my world, and the journey to my happiness add this all up and I get you grandma! Even though you are no longer here with me on earth you will always be in my heart….my soul. Grandma I look back and I'm just now understanding some of the stuff you told me since I was born, when you passed away I had to learn to stand on my own two feet and be a big girl, ill always be your little Brittany (Nieko) with band-aids on my knees from playing outside…I loved playing outside but the scars from falling left marks…well losing you was the biggest scar I could ever get… it left one across my heart and this time the band-aid is I know your in a better place! I never knew what that "You never know what you've got until you lost it" really meant and I"d say that to everyone now that I really know what it means It kinda scares me…..you are my angel that watches over me, I know ill never find some one like you but just know that Mom, Dad, Andrew, the whole family, anyone that ever knew you, then you have me, misses you…Grandma I miss you more than ever right now…I wont say I don't cry, because I do, just know that not a day goes by that I don't think about a loving memory with you! I would just like to say this and I will just title it "Examples".
Be very aware of how you carry yourself amongst everyone. My Grandma used to say you are your own resume and it's up to you if you get the job. I have lived by that saying every since I could understand it and it works for me! It's important for me to let young people like myself know that you can still have fun, pursue your dreams and not compromise yourself or your beliefs and Still remain a Child of God!

I have a dream and I will go to worlds end and beyond to make it happen. Never let anyone tell you what you can't do! Because you can do anything! All you have to do is believe in your-self! Just do it and still let that light that lies within you shine. It would be my joy to be a role model and have someone to look up to me, but I want them to do so because of who I am and the examples I make not what I have or get..... you only have one life, LIVE IT, but make sure u be a leader. Do whats right and not the other way around.....
